A Contemporary, Western Erotic Romance E-book

Carrie Reed is a veterinary genetic specialist -- respected in her field.  Jake Canyon is a ranch owner in Alaska, who suspects he may have come across a new species on his land and invites Carrie to be the first scientist to discover it.  Sparks fly, hot sex ensues, and each must decide if what they have found is worth the compromise to be together.

The setting is a unique twist on the western genre, and the ranch is a wonderful and important character in the story.  You can feel the freshness of the air and the beauty of the scenery. Jake Canyon was sexy, respectful, brave, smart, rich, gallant, and a generous lover. This made for a plot problem because there was no real conflict.  I never could buy into why Carrie had doubts.
This novel is definitely erotic in that there is lots and lots of sex, but it is pretty much the same sex scene over and over, with little variation.  Luckily, Carrie and Jake enjoyed themselves immensely, but I would have liked a little gear change now and then.  Also, the internal dialogue was overdone.  She talked to herself a lot, and it was all italicized — it was a lot of telling with not so much showing.

Canyon’s Call  was quick read with an interesting premise and a smoking hot cowboy. It could benefit from some more editing.
