An Erotic Paranormal

Gothic Blue is a spellbinding read that kidnaps and heaves the reader down a rabbit hole and doesn’t let you up for air.  It is drugging, mesmerizing and very, very good.

There are two distinct plot threads that twine together when Belinda and Jonathan find shelter from a storm at a gothic priory while on holiday.  Like a mirage, the priory is never what it seems, yet always what it needs to be—dark and foreboding one moment, and sunshine and decadence the next.  Their host, Andre, is gracious and seductive with an aura of sensuality that weaves the travelers into spiraling-out-of-control sexuality while teaching them more about themselves than they ever knew possible.  In the midst of it all, a sorceress bent on revenge bears down ever closer threatening all in her path.

Portia Da Costa is a mistress of seduction.  There is enough toe curling sex in this book to scorch your nightstand when you finally convince yourself to put it down and get some sleep—or alternatively—wake up whomever is next to you.  The best part of this novel, however, is that it is layered so well, that if you took all the sex out (not recommended)—you would be left with love so consuming it would still scorch your furniture.  The kind of love that a man would hold onto for eternity and give up immortality for—the kind of love that a young couple realizes gets stronger and more bonding when you are completely honest with each other.

The only thing that could have made this novel better was more of Isadora, the evil sorceress.  She was a fantastic villain and really should get her own book.
