A Paranormal Romance

Lisa Singleton’s life was not an easy one. With a failed marriage behind her, she did her best to plan a new future. Her grandmother gave her a fresh start by offering her a place to stay. But when her grandmother passed on, her life was once more turned on end. As the only child in a long line of Singleton’s, Lisa gained an unusual inheritance: her grandmother’s apartment, her dragon and her magical powers.

Though Lisa might be a mere human, Caleb couldn’t help but feel protective of her. As a golden dragon, he was a warrior of his kind. When he learned Lisa’s life was in danger from an exiled, black dragon, Caleb took action and found a way to become human. But being human has complications all its own.

To save Lisa, they must find and protect a dragon’s orb. If it falls in the wrong hands, the world could be destroyed. When a witch believed the two were becoming too close, she did her best to separate the couple by changing Caleb back into a dragon. The plan backfired when Lisa retaliated, invoking her own power. On the run from demons, witches, and a rogue dragon, the two must find a balance and learn who they could trust. Because, without help, Caleb and Lisa fear there will be no future for their love or anything for that matter.

The wonderfully constructed opening pulled me quickly into the story. Good action and description make this world come alive and believable. Fabulous characters and great secondary characters completed the overall package. Some repeating and contradictory writing slowed down the pacing but it detracted little from the story. The nice touch of humor created a sweet romance that crossed time and space. If you are looking for something to read that’s a bit different and completely absorbing, try Dragon Heat.
