Time Travel/Historical Romance

Though I'd never read the first in this trilogy, Home of the Braves , still this story of Matthew, Standing Deer's and Karen Anderson's son, and his love for Devry was compelling enough to read this novel. There had been enough information given in the beginning for me to know about the back story of the first book to be able to read this book without any confusion.

Using an antique bed, Matthew travels to the past. There, he meets young Devry and falls in love with her, wishing to marry her and bring her back to our time, only to have their love forbidden by his mother. Besides the forbidden love angle, there's also a mystery, where someone is murdering the men of the local men's club. One of those accused is Devry herself.

Combining the paranormal elements of time travel by a magical antique bed, historical aspects of the Old West and the Indians, romance of various characters, plus a murder mystery, Pamela Ackerson manages to blend all four into one tightly woven tapestry of entertainment that most will enjoy.
