Amber and Emily may be sisters, but they're about as opposite as can be. While Amber's an unorganized, free-spirited, utterly single massage therapist living in New York City, Emily is a newly married, ultra-organized stepmother and accountant in Denver. But they do share a common bond – having to deal with their mother at Christmas.

With very few steady massage clients, Amber has no idea how she'll be able to afford a plane ticket to Colorado to come home for the holidays. But she knows that saying no is not an option. She's in luck, though, when the cute guy she recently met asks her to drive with him to her home state. She's very attracted to him, but has deep-seated issues with relationships. Can she overcome her fears and find love during the most wonderful time of the year?

In an effort to please both her mother and a new mother-in-law who doesn't like her, Emily volunteers to host Christmas at her new house. Soon she realizes that was a mistake, with the major home improvements that need to be done, in addition to all the shopping she needs to do as a first-time mother of two kids. Her usually organized and perfect life begins to ravel. Can she get it together in time for Christmas?

Ms. Alan brings her trademark wit to this touching tale, guaranteed to make you both laugh and cry. The sisters are so vividly drawn and lovable that you wish they could be your friends in real life. A perfect book to curl up with on a cold December night!
