A Contemporary and Erotic Romance
In His Body Electric by Carrie Aleander, Karen Jaffe left behind a ruined marriage to start life over in a small town. It wasn't until she met Gabe Tomzak that things started to look up. On first meeting, sparks flew between them – literally. For the last year, Gabe's life has been hell. Afraid to get close to anyone, Gabe almost let the opportunity to get to know Karen slip through his fingers. But he needed help. Taking refuge in her house could lead to ruin … or be the best thing that ever happened to him.
Karen and Gabe are the perfect couple - both confident and vulnerable in turn. The unique storyline and great description grabbed my attention and kept it till the end.
Bed and Breakfast by Susan Donovan portrayed Kate Dreyfuss at her wits end. One disaster after another has ruined Kate's carefully structured future. Sent to a spiritual awakening camp in the mountains sounded like the perfect way to recoup. For someone else, not her. Kate hated the idea. That was until the owner, one Mr. Jorey Matheny walked into her life and into her bed. Jorey left city life far behind. When Kate showed up on his doorstep a month late, Jorey did the only thing he could … invited her to stay. But the more he came to know her, the more he feared he would lose his heart to a city girl.
The interactions and conflicts between the couple really drove this story. If you are looking for a novel with some heat and a romance that's sweet, read Bed and Breakfast.
For Maggie's Sake by Lora Leigh has Maggie Samuels married the wrong guy. After his murder, she found herself under suspicion. If she doesn't give up her mob connections, she was dead. Mob connections? Her? Joe has loved and lost Maggie years ago. He didn't know what he had until he lost her. So when offered the opportunity to protect her, he jumped. But doubts almost ruin their relationship before it started. Now that she was in his bed again, he would do anything to keep her there, alive and well.
This story not only has a fantastic plot, but well written characters that grab you. The tension between Maggie and Joe made this the best story of the anthology and a joy to read.
From Siren's Call by Lori Wilde, Duncan Stewart made a mistake five years ago and has paid for it ever since. Her name is Annie Graves and he has loved her all his life. Even after he walked out on her. Annie never forgave Duncan for his cruelty. Back in town for a short time, Annie hoped to be in and out before she saw him. But upon first meeting, the attraction was there, stronger than ever. When they head off on a wild treasure hunt, the past came alive … along with the memories of why she loved him.
The sexual tension between Duncan and Annie all but made the pages burn. Although the plot seem contrived at times, the theme of love never dies made this a good ending for the book.
