A contemporary, chick lit e-book

Bartender, city girl Marla has a problem and it's not that she flirts with everyone, male or female. She has a powerful crush on Chef Anthony. While Marla isn't new to relationships, the intensity of desire and feelings she has for Anthony is something she has never experienced before.

Chef Anthony Somacelli is weary when it comes to love and romance. Burned badly in a previous relationship he's a bit gun-shy of risking his heart for the sake of his body. And though he's definitely attracted to and aroused by Marla, he's uncertain whether or not his relationship with her is genuine or just lust. Will the past get in their way or will they be able to move forward into a future together?

The connection between Marla and Anthony is sizzling – and in the city. Will a job opportunity for Anthony away from the bright lights and bustling city hurt their chances for love? Or will they be able to make a decision about their future together?

Urban Ambrosia is a quick, delightful read, which takes the reader on an interesting ride from beginning to end.

Marla was an engaging character from the beginning, but it took me a bit of time to warm up to Anthony. Ms Bloodstone walks a fine line with him, without making him seem to unrealistic by being idealistically perfect or making him appear to be weak and wimpy, in regards to handling his background and experiences.

The story takes us on a journey of whether lust at first sight can deepen into true love. The steamy sensual scenes in Urban Ambrosia are well written without being cheesy. You may need a fan or a cool drink after reading and experiencing the heat between Marla and Anthony.

I must admit that there were some confusing moments, but it only made me want to read further to find out the reason why. The story uses some sexual innuendo within the dialogue but it isn't overbearing to the point where you want to stop reading. Also, I found the role reversal in terms of the roles men and women typically play in relationships and novels refreshing. Good character set-up, great dialogue and descriptions are among some of the things that made Urban Ambrosia shine for me.
