Bailey is off men – or at least off the type of man she usually dates – but she isn't off sex. So, while she resets her man-hunting radar, what better way to pass the time than some fun romps with her buddy Sebastian? Unfortunately for Bailey, Sebastian is no one's toy.

This story is a loose sequel to Maverick's Black Cat – a book I enjoyed immensely. Bailey and Sebastian have blazing chemistry, which makes this book a really hot read. The scenes are edgy – including a voyeuristic scene involving another couple – and nearly scorch the reader's retinas.

As hot as this story is, Bailey and Sebastian have some issues – big issues. Their communication is terrible, and at one point I found myself wondering if anything was going to go right for these two. I had some problems with the power dynamics of their relationship – Bailey never really seemed to find a submissive groove that worked for her, but Sebastian just rode right over that, which bothered me – it seemed more about one-up-manship than power exchange.

On the other hand, the dynamic between Bailey and her best friend, Cat, is dead accurate and will strike a familiar chord with many readers. The small glimpses of Cat and her husband, Mason, are rewarding if the reader has read their story, and are a nice counterpoint to Bailey and Sebastian regardless. Finally, the strongest point for the book is the chemistry between Bailey and Sebastian. It's really a pleasure to see two characters strike sparks like these two, and the heat burns away some of the other problems.

All in all, a fun, sexy read.
