Amy is the proud owner of a custom baby line. She designs everything from bumper pads to bonnets. She’s doing so well, in fact, that she decides to take six months off for herself, with a little research thrown in of course. It’s doubtful that she’ll ever be the proud mother of her own baby. All of her friends are either pregnant or already have children. Getting up close and personal to other’s babies gives her no desire to conceive. Amy is sure she’s on the right life path for her–drink and party when she feels like it, spend her fortune on anything she wants and have one night stands without feeling guilty about it. One evening, when checking up on her store, she finds a baby on the doorstep. The baby is only days old and takes her heart, and leads her to the handsome Doctor Joe. Just when she thinks she’s found someone to fill her heart she finds his dreams and desires don’t match hers.

Jackie Clune will have reader’s attention with this story right after her main character decides what to do with her life. This epiphany comes almost half way through the story but those that can wade through the background information will be glad they did. The situations that Amy finds herself in are both comical and sad at the same time. Her friends are well-written and believable characters who read true to life. Amy herself is hard to follow and her decisions don’t always seem realistic. Some readers may find that the ending has left them hanging.
