Ms. Dane's book, Sea Sentinel , pulled me in from the first page.

Elana Del Rio, a marine biologist, works for the Watters Foundation Sea Lab, where Danael Watters is the head of the board of directors. The attraction between the two is instant and ignored…to a point. Although Danael lusts after Elana, his secrets keep him on the fringe of her life. Their professional relationship keeps her from him.

After an attempt on Elana's life, she finds herself lost and alone in dark ocean waters. It is Danael, with his special ability that comes to her rescue. He isn't totally human, at least not anymore. He was changed by his near death experience in the waters of the Atlantic as a child and is now the Sentinel, watching over the ocean around his island.

Sentinel has a good mystery at its core, but the thing I loved the most was the atmosphere. I felt as if I was back at the ocean of my youth, able to hear the surf and feel the cold water. I can't wait until the next episode comes out.
