Austin lawyer, Alexis Montague Pearson, decides to set new goals for herself after a sudden break up with her fiancé. In her quest for change, she tries to work harder, gets a new haircut, and takes up a new hobby. Unfortunately, when her new attitude gets carried away she breaks Remedy Brown's arm. He may be hot but he comes with his own set of issues; chief among them an ex-wife who is "just short of crazy".

Nina Foxx delivers emotion, romance and humour in varying degrees in this fast-paced novel. From beginning to end the reader is alternating between laughter, dismay, and a whole range of other feelings as Alexis makes her way from bitter ex-fiancée to strong, independent sexy woman. Anger management seems to be a theme running through the story and Ms. Foxx's depiction of Remedy Brown's ex-wife, Azyah, was done so well that I could see her clearly in front of me. Azyah could have become cartoonish, but instead she was a well rounded character who held her own, as did all of the characters in this story. My only complaint in reading this was that some of the storylines seemed to wrap up a bit abruptly.

All in all this was a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was the first time I've read this author, but I will be looking forward to picking up more of her books.
