Rachel Morgan is back at it again, living for the adrenalin rush and getting into a ton of trouble!
Rachel is helping to investigate a rash if killings involving weres and finds out that the artifact she was trying to keep hidden is integral. Demons are tracking her down, blaspheming her church, and causing mayhem all over town. Piscary has been set free, Ivy is her usual mess, and Trent is getting married. This all ties together to make a fast paced story that keeps you biting your nails until you are done. There is a shocker in this book, I kept waiting for it to be a dream sequence, but alas no.
Ms. Harrison has done a great job on the story, but some of the phrasing and dialogue seems repetitive. Rachel and her never-ending angst can get on some nerves, as well as Ivy’s attitude. The fact that we get annoyed by their flaws makes the characters very real, which is a credit to the author. I did enjoy this book and will continue to read this series, awaiting each installment eagerly, although I don’t know if I will pay hardcover price.4 Kisses
