In This Fire Down in My Soul – worlds come crashing down as lust and betrayal take front and center. These women live in denial and refuse to come to terms with it until reality bite them in the butt.
You live through the journey with each of these characters. You feel the heartache as each struggles with their demons. Whether it is for the sake of family, love or physical satisfaction, these characters fight tough battles and Ms. Mason takes you there.
Determined to give up meaningless physical relationships, Renee realizes that you can’t have the physical without the emotional, when Lewis comes along and brings his troubles to her doorstep.
Elise has to learn the hard way just how much Jay loves his wife and family when her situation threatens his home happiness and he shows his true colors.
Tess may as well be invisible to her husband. Emotionally drained from his affairs, she turns to someone else’s welcoming arms, except those arms are a little too close to the family.
Dr. Faye gives advice to each of her patients about their life’s situations. Unfortunately she takes her own situation for granted. Her world hits rock bottom before her very eyes.
This is the first book of Ms. Mason’s that I had the pleasure of reading, and I guarantee it won’t be the last.
