Chick Lit Mystery

Andy Kendricks returns in the fourth installment of Susan McBride's very funny Debutante Dropout series.

Andy's boyfriend, Brian Malone, is missing. He was last seen at a sleazy Dallas strip club, a place her oh-so-tony mother, Cissy Blevins Kendricks would never be caught dead in. And Andy's not too thrilled about this turn of events either.

Brian's law firm thinks he's skipped town, but Andy has other thoughts. Strip clubs aren't exactly his stomping grounds, and supposedly he was last seen following a hot blonde stripper out the back door, so there's got to be a good explanation, right? Trouble seems to follow Andy around, so she has a hunch that misfortune has befallen Brian. Her fears are confirmed when she sees his picture on TV wanted for murder, followed by a ransom call a few hours later.

Enter her mother, her mom's new beau, and Brian's colleague. Backed by her makeshift posse, Andy decides to take on the bad guys and save her man.

With sharp dialogue and witty descriptions, Ms. McBride has crafted another winner. Fans of Andy will roar out loud with this stylish caper.

4 kisses
